I too was at the Totley reading and recall that you kindly accomadated those of us who were running late by delaying the start.

I well remember the fellow in the front row whom when I have seen him at earlier events have wrongly believed him to be quarelsome. I now see he wears his heart upon his sleeve.

I was the one who introduced himself as the member of the Walkley feral Writers group which meets in St Mary's Church Hall.

Was your group different and did it meet elsewhere?

When I mentioned attending the reading only one of our group recognised you.

I am re-reading my Library copy of your book (a rare accolade)hoping it will end differently second time around.

In spite of what you said it is crying out for a sequel!

Why does it matter that we know we are dyslexic (a word I have to look up the spelling of everytime I use it). I don't flag upto people before I email them that I am dyslexic so how does it help? I'm not sure but it does. Also what a lot of people don't realise about dyslexia is how exhausting it can be. Simple organisational things that most people find easy, dyslexics can find exhausting - it manifests itself in many ways.

Hi Bryony

Sorry it's taken so long to finally begin reading your blog. Interesting about realising you are dyslexic - my wife, Lynda finally found out in her late forties and it what a release it gave her. Although she's an artist, not a writer, she's now far happier writing emails, blog posts and comments without her inner critic constantly giving her a hammering.

Lovely first post and I'll now work my way slowly through to the present.

Dear Bryony

Many thanks for your on-line talk-up of 'A Seriously Useful Author's Guide to Marketing and Publicising Books'. Do thank your publisher, on my behalf, for spreading the word. If you, or any other fellow writers, have any additional tips to pass on, please will you contact Troubador as we are hoping to update all information in further editions.

Your own novel, The China Bird, has had some wonderful reviews, but there is no paragraph describing the books content on the Amazon site. It would be really useful to you to get something put up, so the potential reader knows what the book is 'about.'

I would like to know a bit more about Hookline Books as it may be possible to include them too in the next edition of Seriously. The Oxford Writers Group (see http://mostly-books.blogspot.com) are always on the lookout for new publishing houses, and it would be nice to know their submission terms.

Very best wishes
